In May of 2024, I became increasingly concerned that I’d been overusing my television and that it had been having a deleterious effect on my life. So I decided to go on a video fast, meaning an elimination of watching tv and playing video games, for one year.

I started on June 1 by taking down my television set and storing it in a back corner.

I also made a podcast to document my progress and any effects that going cold turkey on the small screen might have.
